Christian Cooper is a avid birdwatcher, as well as a prolific writer and editor, including a lot of work for Marvel Comics. In comics, he may be best known for introducing the first openly gay character, Cadet Yoshi Mishima, into the Star Trek universe in Star Fleet Academy #17. More recently, he is known for being the Central Park Black Birdwatcher, who got into an altercation with a white, female dog walker over keeping her dog on its leash. The lady dogwalker escalated the situation quickly, telling Christian she was going to call the police and tell them an African American man was threatening her life. This was considered by many a weaponization of the systemic racism where police often respond more quickly and more violently to white women under potential threat by black men. This incident spread widely on Facebook on the same day as the George Floyd’s murder in Minneapolis, making it part of the landscape that led to great unrest and a resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Spoiler Alert:
Daddy Issues.
So that solved the ant problem. Now where was Scott going to find enough birds for these spiders…
The Sidri are masters of death rays, hive-minds, and bold color choices!
A Black Superhero saves a couple of cops. Just saying.
Looks like the X-Men are leaving the year 2020!
Hey, hand’s off Lilandra’s suit, it might release thousands of tiny spiders!
